HOME/ABOUT US

"The Watchmen of Garland County" was formed by local Garland County Pastors, Clergy and Christian leaders on January 7, 2008 for the purpose of educating the citizens of Garland County, Arkansas as to the objectiveness of the Pro-Gambling, Abortionists, and Homosexual communities in the city of Hot Springs and the surrounding Garland County area.
Late in 2007 Pastor Doug Jones saw his hometown of Hot Springs, Arkansas for perhaps the first time in his lifetime coming under an all out attack by immorality.
The 100 year old Race Track, Oaklawn Jockey Club announced their plans to bring an additional 900 electronic gambling machines on to their premises to add to the 500 they already had. In addition he attended a meeting sponsored by "CHOICE" an affiliated organization of "Planned Parenthood" wherein they proudly declared their intentions of making Hot Springs the third city in the state of Arkansas to have an abortion clinic. Finally pastor Doug attended a meeting co-sponsored by "CHOICE", "Just Communities of Central Arkansas" and "REGARD", called "Straight Talk on Homosexuality". At this meeting a panel of homosexuals and supporters gave their story. Nearly everyone of them professed to be a Christian. When he asked how they could balance Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:27 with their lifestyle they stated "we don't take the bible literally."
Pastor Doug Jones went home after that last meeting and wept. He beg God to raise up someone to take up the fight for the cause of Christ in Hot Springs. During that sleepless night God brought him to Ezekiel chapter 33, and after reading the whole chapter it was as if God said "well Doug what's wrong with you." He offered every excuse he could think of but in the end pastor Doug surrendered and said "Yes, Lord here am I."
In the first seven months, seventy churches out of the 225 in Garland County came on board to fight the common foe. "The Watchmen of Garland County" represent a wide-variety of doctrines and worship styles and denominations in which they might disagree, but they also recognize Jesus Christ as God-incarnate, born of a virgin, who was sinless among men, yet paid the sin debt for all of mankind by His death on the cross, yet He rose from the grave on the third day, and was witnessed by many before He ascended into heaven, where He now sits at the right-hand of God where He awaits the day of His coming again.
"The Watchmen of Garland County" has realized that their enemy is not the church down the street or across town. They have a common enemy that seeks to destroy homes, rob our children their innocence, and bring shame to our Lord Jesus Christ. If the church of Jesus Christ will stand up for morality and justice we can make a difference!
